Hear From Families Who've Already Taken the First Step
Darren Thurgood

"Honestly the coaches here are one of a kind, we have 4 children ranging from 5–11 and they adore the coaches. Providing confidence, discipline, skill, knowledge and fun. Couldn't ask for a better place for my kids to learn an amazing skill."

Sapphire Alchikh
"It’s been the best decision we’ve made sending our son here. The way in which they teach gives him a real confidence boost. His fitness, mental and social skills are all really improving.
He’s finally found something he’s passionate about."

Thomas Green

"I started taking my girls to the kids classes about a year ago and had all the concerns a normal parent has with little ones starting any kind of martial arts. Luckily, coach Jego and coach Ayham have been patient, supportive and excellent teachers. Couldn't ask for better."

BJJ CLASSES DESIGNED FOR THEIR AGE
CUBS | AGES 4–7
For younger children, the priority is creating a positive introduction to BJJ. Our Cubs programme combines movement, learning and structured play to help children become comfortable interacting and trying new things.
They'll begin developing:
Balance and coordination
Listening and attention
Respect for coaches and training partners
JUNIORS & TEENS | AGES 8–16
As children grow, the challenges grow with them and keep them engaged. Our Juniors & Teens programme introduces more technical Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu while continuing to develop confidence, discipline and resilience.
Students learn to:
Think through problems under pressure
Improve fitness and coordination
Work constructively with training partners
School asks children to concentrate, communicate, handle setbacks and become more independent. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gives them another place to practise those skills while staying active, learning something new and having something positive to look forward to each week.

We Keep the First Step Simple
Their first class is about helping them feel comfortable, meet the coaches and experience BJJ without any pressure to perform. They'll be guided throughout the session and introduced to exercises appropriate for their age and experience.
Our promise is simple: a welcoming, supportive first experience with no pressure to perform or join.
Depending on their age and class, they may experience:
Movement and coordination games
Simple Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques
Partner drills
Balance and body-control exercises
Problem-solving activities
WHAT SHOULD THEY BRING?
For their first session, comfortable sports clothing is enough. There's no need to buy a uniform or specialist equipment before they try the class. Parents are also welcome to stay and watch.

Not at all. Most children start as complete beginners and are introduced to BJJ gradually.
Our Cubs programme is for ages 4–7.
Our Juniors & Teens programme is for ages 8–16.
If you're unsure which class is most appropriate, we can help.
Yes. Parents are welcome to stay and watch.
Shyness is very common when children try something new. There's no expectation that they'll feel comfortable or confident immediately. The goal is to help them settle in gradually.
Yes. BJJ gives children a structured way to use their energy while also requiring them to listen, think and follow instructions.
No. Fitness and coordination develop through regular training. They don't need to arrive with either.
No. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is suitable for boys and girls.
BJJ is a physical activity, so bumps and minor knocks can happen, as they can in any sport.
Classes are coached and structured around children's age and experience, with an emphasis on controlled, respectful training.
The purpose is the opposite. Good martial arts training teaches control, respect and responsibility.
Children learn that knowing how to handle themselves does not mean looking for opportunities to prove it.
They don't need to be confident, sporty or experienced.
They don't need to know anyone.
They just need the opportunity to try.
